Frankly, though not being single for quite a while, I still don't get what this V-day is all about :/
Some drawing on paper and then painted in photoshop. C&C welcome!

Happy Holidays!

It's that time of the year again.

Here's a card made with my panda charater, her viking friend, their pet honey badger, the pet polar bear, and the evil Xmas pudding. It looks like the next year will be a wild ride for them.

In Chinese we have an idiom "to win success upon the arrival of the horse" as one of the nice thing you say to people for new year. This is basically the idea behind this image.

So Merry Xmas/hoilday and Happy New Year, everyone. Wish you all achieve your goal and have a very exciting 2007!

Legend of the Vampire I

A commissioned work for a fiction called "Legend of the Vampire I". Painted in Photoshop.

It started as a doodle with just a portrait of the girl. At first I drew and render the face in some kind of anime style, but realised that I didn't like it. After studying some classic masters' paintings, I repainted the face to get a more realisc skin tone.

And someone asked me if they can use the work for the fiction, so I added the suggested background, well almost in a rush because they needed it in a hurry.

Hope you liek the work. C&C welcome.

Alienation

This picture is based on an idea I had while I was back to my hometown. I was standing on the top of this tallest building in the world at the moment, Taipei 101. The entrance fee was very expansive, and I was with my brother, not my boyfriend, so it was nowhere near romantic. I felt bored, and just wanted to distroy something to make the trip more interesting. All of a sudden I thought of painting a picture like this.

So this is just some kind of ocassional freaky thought that doesn't make any sense. Therefore please don't ask me what it means. It's probably all about my subconscious, if you believe in such type of thing.

Started with a very rough pencil skech and painted in Photoshop. Used my own reflection in the mirror as ref for various places.

I took the drawing in photoshop and painted on top of it, making a few changes where I see fit.

I make a collab with him before, "A girl and her bunny rabbit", which you can find in my cgtalk portfolio. I wanted to do more with this one, using different palette and giving more texture etc, and am quite happy with the result.

Hope you enjoy the work. If you like the style, I recommend checking out Aaron's gallery for some latest drawings. He has some crazy amazing imagination!

A Girl and her Bunny Rabbit

This is a collaboration with Aaron Sikstrom. It's a colour version of one of his fabulous drawings, "a girl and her bunny rabbit". If you enjoy this work, I highly recommend you visit his gallery and check out the other work as well. It's full of the same kind of wild fun imagination!

So basically I took his original drawing, and painted in photoshop, mostly in one layer.

Since the drawing style is quite loose, I decided not to try the pen&ink outline, but use this freedom to interpretate by myself a little bit. The characters are very adorable and the origianl scene has already this dreamy, fairytale-like qulity to it, and this inspired me to feel like a child again when picking the colour, rendering them etc. It was a very fun experience and I learned a few new things from it - thanks Aaron for providing me with this opportunity

A collage of charcaters and some graphics I made for a shoot-them-up mobile game, Alpha Wing 2 (Glu Mobile).
The 3 characters in the front are the elite pilots of Alpha Wing: a human teenager, a green alien, and a state of art droid. They all have their own spaceships, and are ready to go at the command of some mysterious man with beard in the HQ.
